Hike Distance:

Difficulty:

November 15th at 8 AM

11.3 km

6/10

About the Hike:

We are all well aware of how beautiful the Hatta Dam is, but have you ever hiked the area around it? Adventure 2.2 will surely satisfy your outdoor craving with spectacular scenery and varying terrain.

This hike is not technical and is suitable for beginner hikers who are looking to jumpstart their adventurous souls. However, it is relatively long and requires moderate to high fitness levels in order to complete the trail in suitable timing. Remember, the more you stop the more tired you actually get, so it’s all about mind over body and pushing yourself through 😉

The first 4.5 km of the hike are relatively flat with some small ascents; we will have our first 10 minute break at the end of this segment. After resting, we will be tackling a fairly steep altitude gain of 118 m over a distance of approximately 1 km where will enjoy beautiful views from our maximum elevation of 483 m above sea level. The trail then follows a gradual descent from here on up until the 10.7 km mark where we’ll be hitting a relatively steep descent back to our starting point.

The total duration of the hike will depend on the group’s pace; however, we should be done by 3/4 pm.

Transportation:

4 Wheel Drives are not needed to get to the meeting point, location is accessible to absolutely any car. Please be at the following location at 8 AM sharp to avoid any delays:

Hatta Hayl Hike Meeting Point

We wanna help you get there!

If you don’t have a way to get to the meeting point, let us know. We encourage car pools and will help sort them out. If you have a car and are willing to take some people onboard with you then you my friend, are a boss!  🙂

Car pooling will be discussed in the group once you register for the hike.

Food, Water & Snacks:

You should pack at least 3 liters of water for the hike, I cannot stress on this point enough. As for food, you’ll need some snacks to give you an energy boost during the climbs and a light lunch to have at the beach. Most importantly though… pack enough water!

Optional BBQ After the Hike:

I know this is the real reason you’re all joining the hike (if this is your first time joining us, you’ll know what I’m talking enough soon enough). After the hike is over, some people drive back to Dubai or Abu Dhabi but the majority of us choose to stay for a BBQ and bon fire (camping too depending on the weather and temperature). If you want to stay for the bbq, all you need to bring is your chair and a grill (can use others’ if you don’t have one) and whatever meat or veggies you’ll be cooking (you can keep them in my cooler during the hike)… OR, I also offer awesome, marinated (the GTA secret marinade), Australian Skirt Steak from La Carne, Abu Dhabi; it’ll be marinated the night before and kept in the cool box ready to grill after the hike. This is an all time favorite so contact me if you want to know more about how you can order some for yourself 😉
