Have you ever dreamed of hiking through landscapes that feel straight out of a fantasy novel—where towering fjords meet emerald valleys and ancient glaciers loom in the distance (Yes, we can be poetic from time to time)? We did, and the answer was Norway! Starting in Bergen, we journey deep into the heart of the fjords, hiking to remote mountain farms like Rakssetra, standing atop dramatic viewpoints like Prest, and challenging ourselves on iconic trails like Romsdalseggen. Between adrenaline-filled glacier hikes in Jotunheimen and peaceful evenings in cozy cabins, we will share laughs, stories, games, and unforgettable views.
WHY VENTURE NORWAY WITH GRASP THE ADVENTURE:
We've got countless reasons but here are some.
At Grasp The Adventure, our mission has always been to ignite a love for the outdoors, inspire bold exploration, and create bonds as powerful as the mountains we hike together. We don’t just hike—we connect, laugh, and grow as a family. This is the kind of adventure we are inviting you on. Beyond the stunning peaks and crystal-clear fjords, you’ll find friendships that run as deep as the valleys below. Whether we're heaving, panting, and sweating on a mountain, or soaking in the fjord-side sunset, or sharing heartfelt moments and silly games in our cozy mountain lodges, this journey is as much about people as it is about place.

This adventure isn’t just about conquering peaks, it’s about reconnecting with nature, with yourself, and with others who share the same adventurous spirit. We'll hike through legendary landscapes like Romsdalseggen, Aurlandsdalen, and Prest, sleep in comfortable hotels nestled between the fjords, and bond over stories, snacks, and the kind of belly laughs that echo louder than the waterfalls. The trails we’ve chosen are challenging enough to spark pride, but accessible to anyone in decent shape. If you're unsure about your fitness level, feel free to reach out to us. We can send you a fitness test to assess your current condition and even provide an exercise plan to help you prepare for the trip.

While hiking is a big part of the journey, it’s only the beginning of what’s in store. We’ll ride funiculars up soaring peaks, road-trip through jaw-dropping landscapes, ferry across stunning fjords, and even jump into kayaks to explore peaceful, hidden corners of nature. Sweet tooth? We’ll make a stop at a local chocolate factory too! And for the adrenaline seekers, there’s an epic Via Ferrata climb waiting. Every day will bring a new kind of adventure, some peaceful, some thrilling, all adding up to a trip that’s diverse and unforgettable.

In the evening, we’ll gather for a group welcome dinner to kick things off.

After breakfast, we’ll set off on a gorgeous drive through mountain tunnels, past glacial rivers and green valleys. Once we reach Flåm, we’ll hop aboard the famous Flåmsbana for a breathtaking round-trip train ride, one of the steepest and most scenic railway lines in the world. Expect waterfalls, rugged cliffs, and postcard-perfect valleys along the way.
After the ride, we’ll continue to Aurland and tackle our first hike up Prest, one of the best viewpoints in the region. The trail starts above the fjord and steadily climbs through birch forest and rocky terrain until it opens to panoramic views over the Aurlandsfjord, with Flåm and Undredal tiny below.
We’ll head down and settle into our cozy lodge in the fjord-side village of Aurland. A relaxed evening with a hearty local dinner awaits—think trout, potatoes, and cloudberry jam.

Day 3, Monday: Aurland → Aurlandsdalen Hike → Loen
Drive Time: ~5 hours (including ferry ride)
After an early breakfast and checkout, we’ll lace up our boots for one of the most iconic hikes in Norway: the legendary Aurlandsdalen Valley. This 20 km trail winds from Østerbø down to Vassbygdi, following rushing rivers, waterfalls, and lush green cliffsides—it’s often called the "Grand Canyon of Norway" for good reason. Expect around 6 hours of steady hiking through dramatic, ever-changing landscapes.
At the end of the trail, we'll hop on a pre-booked shuttle back up to Østerbø where our cars are waiting. From there, we'll hit the road again, cruising through scenic fjord country and hopping on the short Mannheller–Fodnes ferry.
By evening, we’ll roll into Loen, our home base for the next few adventures, ready for a cozy dinner and some well-deserved rest.
Accommodation: Lodge in Loen, 2–4 per room, private bathrooms
Day 4, Tuesday: Loen — Via Ferrata Adventure + Rakssetra Hike
Activity Time: Full day
Today’s all about epic views and adrenaline! After breakfast, we’ll gear up and tackle the famous Via Ferrata Loen, a guided climb along iron steps and cables up the towering cliffs above the fjord. It’s a thrilling, bucket-list experience, but thanks to the harnesses and expert guides, it’s accessible even for first-timers. After reaching the summit, we’ll descend in style on the Loen Skylift—a cable car with mind-blowing panoramic views.
We'll grab lunch at the mountaintop Mt. Hoven restaurant, where hearty dishes come with unbeatable vistas. After refueling, we’ll take a relaxed hike up to Rakssetra, a picture-perfect cluster of old mountain farms overlooking the turquoise waters below—a gentle two-hour round trip perfect for soaking in the scenery.
The late afternoon is yours to rest, chill by the lake, or even brave a refreshing dip! In the evening, we’ll gather again for dinner and share stories from an unforgettable day.
Accommodation: Lodge in Loen, 2–4 per room, private bathrooms
Day 5, Wednesday: Loen → Hellesylt → Geiranger — Fjord Cruise, Skageflå Hike & Sunset Magic
Activity Time: Full day
After an early breakfast, we’ll check out and hit the road toward Hellesylt, a charming fjord village where our next adventure begins. We’ll board a fjord cruise from Hellesylt to Geiranger, one of the most famous and breathtaking ferry rides in Norway, gliding past towering waterfalls and dramatic cliffs.
Upon arriving in Geiranger, we’ll quickly drop off our bags at the lodge and grab some lunch before setting out for the epic Skageflå hike. This trail climbs steeply from the water’s edge up to an ancient mountain farm perched high above the fjord—a challenging but incredibly rewarding climb with jaw-dropping views at every turn. We’ll return by hopping on a boat for a breezy ride back to Geiranger.
After a well-deserved dinner, we’ll cap off the day with a visit to the Ørnesvingen (Eagle’s Bend) viewpoint, where we’ll catch the sunset painting the fjord in gold and pink hues—an unforgettable moment you’ll want your camera ready for.
Accommodation: Lodge in Geiranger, 2–4 per room, private bathrooms

Day 6, Friday: Geiranger → Trollstigen → Åndalsnes — Kayaking, Chocolate Factory & Scenic Drive
Activity Time: Full day
After breakfast, we’ll start the day by exploring Geiranger's fjord by kayak, getting up close to the stunning cliffs and waterfalls that surround the village. After paddling through the calm waters, we’ll visit the Geiranger chocolate factory to sample some locally made chocolates, perfect for satisfying our sweet cravings.
Once we've had our fill of kayaking and chocolate, we’ll set off on a scenic drive to Trollstigen, taking the iconic Ørnevegen (Eagle Road) for an unforgettable route with sweeping views over the valley below. We’ll stop to stretch our legs and enjoy the view with a walk to the Trollstigen viewpoint, where we can take in the spectacular sight of winding roads and mountain peaks, followed by lunch at the Trollstigen Café.
Next, we’ll head toward Åndalsnes and, after settling in, we'll relax by the fjord and take in the surrounding beauty. In the late afternoon, we’ll spend some time preparing gear for the next day’s big hike.
Dinner in the evening will be a relaxed group affair, giving us a chance to reflect on the adventures so far and bond before tomorrow’s adventure.

This stunning 10 km hike, taking approximately 7 hours, will offer panoramic views of towering peaks, the majestic Romsdal valley, and the surrounding fjords. Prepare for breathtaking views on one of the most beautiful day hikes you'll ever experience.
After the adventure, we’ll take some time to relax and enjoy a hearty lunch, recharging before the next leg of our journey. We'll use this break to share stories and take in the natural beauty that surrounds us.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a long scenic drive to Beitostølen, passing through picturesque villages and enjoying the ever-changing landscapes along the way. This drive will take us about 5.5 hours, following RV15 and E6, and offers plenty of chances to stop and admire the surroundings. As we approach our destination, we’ll unwind and reflect on the hike, knowing that a cozy evening awaits.

In the afternoon, we’ll drive ~2.5 hours back toward Flåm or Aurland and spend our final night near the fjords. In the evening, we will all gather one last time for our farewell dinner.
Accommodation: Hotel or lodge near Flåm/Aurland, 2–4 per room, private bathrooms
